The ATS panel monitors the grid: when it fails, it commands the generator set to start up, transfers the load, and, when the grid becomes stable again, switches the system back to the grid and shuts down the generator. How do I order a replacement part for my Genergy generator?

Using the model number (found on the casing and the data sheet) and the serial number (on the generator nameplate), contact the after-sales service or the dealer where you purchased it. We’ll confirm the exact part number, the estimated delivery time, and whether it’s best to have the service technician install it.

What accessories does a generator need?

For use with an extension cord, none. To connect it to the electrical system so it starts automatically, an automatic transfer switch (ATS) rated for the service current, installed by an electrician. To move it, the wheel kit if the model does not come with wheels. And for maintenance, the filters and spark plug specified for your model.

What is an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)?

An electrical panel that monitors the grid and, when it fails, triggers the generator to start, transfers the load to the generator, and, when the grid stabilizes, returns the load to the grid and shuts down the generator. It is selected based on the system's current: from 63 to 630 A in Genergy. The Mulhacén ATS and Creta Silent ATS come with it built in.

Which ATS panel do I need for my group?

The one based on the current of your service connection, which is determined by the installer. As a guideline: GDS10 and GDS14 with 63 A; GDS20 and GDS27 with 80–125 A; GDS50 through GDS150 with 125–250 A; GDS200 and GDS275 with 400 A; GDS350 with 630 A.

Can I replace the AVR regulator on my generator myself?

We do not recommend this. The regulator is designed to work with a specific alternator; a poorly fitted universal module will produce voltage outside the specified range or burn out the windings, in addition to voiding the warranty. Order the original part from the aftermarket and have it installed by the authorized service center. What the regulator does and how to tell if it’s faulty (in electronic regulation).

Do I need a voltage stabilizer for my generator?

If your generator is Genergy, no: they all have electronic regulation (SVR, AVR, or inverter), and the voltage is already stable. If you're looking for a voltage stabilizer, it's because the generator's voltage is fluctuating—and that's caused by capacitor regulation, a faulty regulator, or the engine running at the wrong speed: the problem is fixed on the generator itself, not with an external device.

Can solar panels be connected to a generator?

Not directly to the generator; instead, the solar inverter starts the generator via a dry contact when the batteries run low (SOL versions and the entire GDS family). See the photovoltaic backup system for details. The cables and adapters for the power stations do fall into this category.

What kind of cable do I need to connect the generator?

A cable with sufficient cross-sectional area for the current and the required length (the longer the cable, the larger the cross-sectional area) that matches the generator’s plug: Schuko or CEE 16/32 A for 230 V, or 5-pole CEE for 400 V. To connect to the home or industrial building’s electrical system, the cable goes to the switch or ATS panel installed by an electrician—never to a wall outlet.
