What Is a Gas-Powered Pressure Washer and When Do You Need One?
A high-pressure pump powered by a gasoline engine, rather than an electric motor. It delivers the same high-pressure water as a professional plug-in pressure washer, but where there’s no outlet: on a farm, at a construction site, in a warehouse without a three-phase power supply, on a trailer, or on a boat in dry dock. And it delivers significantly more pressure than a household model: 175 or 275 bar compared to the 100–150 bar of garage-style units.
If you have a power outlet nearby and wash your car once a month, you don’t need it: an electric model is enough and weighs less. The gas-powered model is for those who clean a lot, clean in areas without power, or clean things that an electric model can’t handle: farm equipment, formwork, barns, trucks, and building facades. If you just want to move water without pressure (draining, watering, transferring), that’s not a pressure washer—it’s a motor pump.

Bar or flow rate: the two numbers that make all the difference
You choose it based on pressure and flow rate. The pressure loosens the dirt; the flow carries it away. With high pressure and low flow, you loosen the dirt but are left staring at the mud; with high flow and low pressure, you just wet it without moving it. It’s the combination of the two that cleans.
Pressure (bar)
The force with which the water strikes the surface. 175 bar removes mud, moss, and dust caked onto wood, concrete, and sheet metal. 275 bar removes grease, fresh concrete, dried manure residue, and peeling paint. A pressure of more than 275 bar on a portable machine does not provide any additional benefit: it begins to damage seals and wood.
Flow rate (liters per hour)
The amount of water it uses depends on the pressure. That’s what determines how long it takes: with 684 L/h, you can clean a tractor; with 900 L/h, you can clean both the tractor and the trailer in the same amount of time. And that’s the number stores don’t advertise prominently, because it’s more expensive to provide.
Nozzles and Angle
The four standard settings: 0° (jet, for spot cleaning), 15° (scouring), 40° (delicate surfaces and general cleaning), and soap (low pressure with detergent). The rotating nozzle Genergy, optional, rotates the jet 0° in a circle: the force of the jet across the fan surface.

General guidelines: The actual pressure on the surface depends on the distance between the spray gun and the nozzle. For wood, paint, and joints, always start with the 40° nozzle and keep your distance.
