Grupos electrógenos para casa

A home generator is a device that independently generates electricity to keep your home running during power outages, powering essential appliances (refrigerator, lights, heating, water pumps, alarms, or the router) without relying on the power grid.

This GDS diesel generator series from Genergy (10 to 27 kVA, single-phase and three-phase) is designed for serious home backup: large homes, rural residences, farms, and vacation homes that require true autonomy and automatic transfer switching (ATS) in the event of prolonged power outages.

What is a home generator?

A home generator is a unit consisting of an engine and an alternator that produces electricity on its own, without relying on the power grid. Its main function is to provide backup power for the home: when the power goes out, it keeps essential appliances running—such as the refrigerator and freezer, lighting, heating, water pump, alarm system, router, or your work-from-home computer—so that a power outage doesn’t bring you to a standstill.

The models in this line are diesel-powered at 1,500 RPM, designed to run for many hours with minimal wear and tear and a long runtime—ideal for extended power outages or for powering an entire home. Additionally, they are equipped for automatic start-up (ATS): they detect a power outage, start up on their own, and restore power within seconds—without you having to go out and turn anything on. If your power needs are modest or you’re looking for something portable, a gasoline or inverter generator might be a better fit for you (we’ve included a link to that option below).

GDS Home Generator Models

Diesel models ranging from 10 to 27 kVA. Most homes are single-phase (230V); the three-phase versions (400/230V) are for large homes or those with specialized machinery. Choose based on your setup.

How much power do you need for your home?

Frequently asked questions

What can a home generator power?

Lighting, refrigerator and freezer, heating, water pump, alarm system and cameras, router and remote work equipment, among others. How many devices you can connect at once depends on the unit’s power capacity; these models (10–27 kVA) are designed to provide backup power for an entire home.

How much power do I need for my home?

It depends on what you want to keep running at the same time. Add up the power consumption of those devices and factor in a 20–30% margin for startup peaks (pumps, air conditioning). As a general guideline, 10 kVA is enough to power a single-family home; for large or rural homes with multiple appliances, you’ll want to go up to 14–27 kVA. If your power needs are low, a portable gasoline-powered generator or inverter might be sufficient.

Single-phase or three-phase for a home?

Most homes have a single-phase power supply (230V), so an “M” model is usually the right choice. The three-phase “T” versions (400/230V) are for large homes or those with equipment that requires three-phase power. If you have any questions, check your utility bill or electrical panel, or ask us.

What is Automatic Start-Stop (ATS)?

This system detects a power outage, automatically starts the generator, and switches over the power supply in seconds; when grid power returns, it shuts down the generator. It’s ideal for avoiding the need to go outside to turn it on, especially at night or when no one is home. It requires an ATS transfer switch (not included).

Why diesel and not gasoline?

Diesel offers greater runtime and lower hourly fuel consumption, and at 1,500 RPM, it experiences less wear and tear and has a longer service life. It is the best option for extended outages or for providing backup power to an entire home. For occasional, small-scale backup power, a gasoline-powered inverter may be sufficient and more economical.

Are they noisy?

These models come equipped with sound insulation as standard, which significantly reduces noise and makes them suitable for residential areas.

Do you offer a warranty and technical support?

Yes. Genergy is a manufacturer that offers a 3-year comprehensive warranty (covering labor, travel, and replacement parts), its own after-sales service, and a network of distributors throughout Spain.

The recommended power ratings are approximate and depend on each home. The battery and ATS panel may not be included, depending on the model.

Not sure which model to choose?

Tell us what you want to keep running during a power outage and whether your home is single-phase or three-phase, and our technical team will help you select the ideal generator. Genergy Total Warranty and in-house after-sales service.
