Gasoline-powered air compressor: compressed air where there's no electricity

Three gasoline-powered portable air compressors with flow rates ranging from 516 to 1,000 liters per minute and air tanks ranging from 76 to 110 liters, for olive harvesting, pruning with pneumatic shears, nailing, painting, or inflating tires in the middle of a field or on a construction site. Genergy engine, cast-steel cylinder head, and pressure regulator up to 8 bar. Manufacturer with after-sales service in Spain.

What Is a Motorcycle Air Compressor and What Is It Used For?

An air compressor powered by a gasoline engine instead of an electric motor, mounted on a wheeled trailer. It does the same thing as a workshop compressor (providing compressed air for pneumatic tools) but in places where there’s no power outlet: an olive grove in the middle of harvest season, a vineyard during pruning, a construction site without a power connection, a farm, or a maintenance trailer. It’s the machine that powers olive harvesters, pruning shears, nail guns, and air guns a hundred meters from the nearest power source.

If you have a power outlet where you work, you don't need one: an electric compressor is cheaper and quieter. If you have to plug in an electric compressor out in the field using a generator, you still don't need one: a motorcycle compressor has just one engine instead of two and weighs half as much as the whole setup. The rest of the gasoline-powered machinery Genergy Take care of the rest: water, pressurized water and welding.

The number that matters: liters per minute at 6 bar, not the maximum

All compressors advertise their “maximum” air flow, which is the amount of air they deliver at no pressure. Your tool operates at 6 bar, and at that pressure, the air flow is significantly lower. A Cierzo with a “516 L/min” rating delivers 306 at 6 bar. That’s the figure you need to compare, and here we provide it at 2, 4, 6, and 8 bar.

How many tools can you hang at once?

Add up the air consumption of the tools that will be operating at the same time and compare it to the air supply at 6 bar. The air receiver absorbs the peaks; the compressor has to maintain the average.

Where are you going to use it?

Olive Grove · Olive Harvest

Pneumatic grape-shakers on the farm

The most common use for which a portable air compressor is purchased in Spain. A grape-shaker requires 150–250 L/min: “Cierzo” for one, “Tramontana” for two, and “Mistral” for three at a time, using the long hoses used during the harvest. And 4 hours of runtime on the “Tramontana” setting—enough for a morning’s work.

Vineyard · Orchard · Pruning

Pneumatic shears for a work crew

Each pruning shears uses very little water (30–60 L/min), so what matters is how many are hanging: Cierzo operates 5–6 pairs, Tramontana 8–10. 10" wheels for traveling along the vineyard road.

Construction · Exterior Carpentry

Nailers, staplers, and blowers without a power connection

Formwork, pergolas, decking, roofing: The Tramontana, with its 80-liter hopper, can handle the demands of multiple nailers without the motor even noticing. For large projects and continuous use, choose the Mistral with electric start.

Painting · Treatment

Paint or treatment spray gun for use in the field

Spray guns consume a lot of air continuously (200–350 L/min): Tramontana or Mistral, with the regulator set to the pressure required by the spray gun.

Fleet · Maintenance

Inflate, blow, and use impact wrenches away from the workshop

Tractor and truck tires on the farm, cleaning filters, changing tires on the trail: Cierzo on the maintenance trailer, Mistral if working all day with an impact wrench.

Rental

A team that leaves and comes back

Cast-steel head, forklift pockets for loading and unloading, and proprietary replacement parts. The Mistral with electric start generates the fewest service calls.

Why Choose a Genergy Motorcycle Air Compressor?

Air at 6 bar, published

We specify the flow rate at 2, 4, 6, and 8 bar—not just the maximum. That's the value used for sizing, and it's the one that almost no one publishes.

Cast steel head

A part that gets hot and wears out, built to last for years of use, not just one season.

Regulator and two pressure gauges

You adjust the outlet pressure to what each tool requires and can see the pressure in the boiler at the same time. No guesswork involved.

Genergy Motor

SGB210PRO, SGB270PRO-C, and SGB420PRO-C: easy cold start and self-service replacement of the filter, spark plug, belt, and oil.

It moves on its own and is loaded with a hand truck

10" wheels and a single-person handlebar for short distances; forklift slots for loading it onto the trailer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Motorized Air Compressors

What is a motorcycle air compressor?

An air compressor whose compressor head is powered by a gasoline engine instead of an electric motor, mounted on a wheeled trailer. It is used to power pneumatic tools (rattles, shears, nail guns, spray guns) in places where there is no electrical outlet.

What are the three types of compressors?

By the way they compress air: piston (reciprocating), screw, and vane or centrifugal. Portable motor-driven compressors are piston-type, with two or three cylinders mounted on a crankcase: this is the most robust and repairable type for use in the field and on construction sites. Screw compressors are designed for continuous air supply in industrial settings; centrifugal compressors are designed for large, constant flow rates.

What type of compressor is most commonly used?

The piston-type with a reservoir, by far: it covers everything from home workshops to construction sites and the countryside, and it’s the one used in all three motorized air compressors Genergy. The screw only compensates when a continuous air supply is required for many hours a day in a fixed installation.

How many liters per minute do I need?

Add up the air consumption of the tools that will be running at the same time, at the pressure at which they operate (usually 6 bar), and compare that to the compressor’s air output at that pressure—not at maximum pressure. An olive harvester requires 150–250 L/min: Cierzo (306 at 6 bar) for one, Tramontana (498) for two, Mistral (702) for three.

What is the difference between "maximum" air pressure and 6 bar?

The maximum flow rate is the amount of air the compressor delivers without pressure in the air receiver; as the air receiver fills, the compressor works against that pressure and delivers less. A Cierzo delivers 516 L/min at no load and 306 L/min at 6 bar. Since your tool operates at 6 bar, that’s the number you should use to compare different brands.

What is a cauldron used for, and how much do I need?

It's the air reservoir: it absorbs consumption spikes (a nail gun fires and uses a lot of air all at once) and prevents the motor from constantly starting and stopping. For tools that operate continuously (air hammer, spray gun), the motor’s airflow is more important; for impact tools (nail gun, impact wrench), the air tank capacity is key: 76, 80, and 110 liters for the Cierzo, Tramontana, and Mistral models, respectively.

Can it be used for shaking olives?

This is the most common use. A pneumatic olive harvester consumes 150–250 L/min at 6 bar, depending on the model; with long hoses, it’s best to allow for some leeway. Cierzo for one olive harvester, Tramontana for two (with 4 hours of runtime on the morning of the harvest), and Mistral for three with an electric starter.

How loud is it?

Between 82 and 89 dB at 7 meters, depending on the model and load (guaranteed LwA: 107–110 dB). This is a machine designed for field and construction work—it’s not meant for a condominium courtyard. Set it up at a distance and use the long hoses; that’s what they’re there for.

How long does it last on one tank of gas?

Cierzo: about 2.2 hours with 2.6 liters; Tramontana: about 4 hours with 6 liters; Mistral: about 3.3 hours with 6 liters. Fuel consumption depends on how much air you use: a compressor running at half capacity uses significantly less fuel than one running at full capacity.

Can I adjust the pressure for each tool?

Yes: All three are equipped with an outlet pressure regulator and a pressure gauge to monitor the pressure, in addition to the pressure gauge on the tank. Pruning shears operate at a lower pressure than an impact wrench; the pressure can be adjusted on the regulator without touching the motor.

What kind of maintenance does it need?

The engine (SAE 10W40 synthetic oil every 50–100 hours, spark plug, air filter), the compressor head (its own oil and air filter, specific part numbers Genergy), the drive belt, and—most often overlooked—draining the water from the boiler at the end of each workday: condensation causes the tank to rust from the inside.

How much does a portable air compressor cost?

The price of each model is listed on its product page. Compare them based on liters per minute at 6 bar (not the maximum pressure), the boiler's capacity in liters, and whether the head is made of cast steel or aluminum: these factors determine how many seasons it will last.

I recently purchased a Limited 7000 generator. I contacted the company by email to ask a few questions, and they responded immediately. Plus, they’re going to replace the industrial outlet adapter in a couple of days. GREAT AFTER-SALES SERVICE—for once, what they say is true; that’s what I call service. As for the generator, it looks well-built and high-quality, starts right up, and the noise level is about what you’d expect from a gasoline-powered generator—it’s a good machine. For now, I’m giving Genergy 5 stars.

I bought the 3000 diesel generator. They tested it at the factory before shipping it to me and delivered it with oil already in it and ready to use—even though they didn’t have to, since with large retailers, they don’t even bother to open the box for you to inspect it. Once tested, it works very well, and I have no complaints. The customer service is excellent. I called several times to get more information—and, by the way, to make sure it wasn’t one of those scams that are so common in online sales these days—and I can assure you that this is a trustworthy company from which I’ll make future purchases. Thank you very much for everything.

Definitely a trustworthy company. I had a minor issue with a generator, and they resolved it within 24 hours. They responded to my email incredibly quickly and provided a fast, effective solution—the kind you’d expect from a mature, well-established team. Their communication was direct, transparent, and straightforward, with no evasive tactics or automated replies that lead nowhere. By the way, the generator is a Genergy 5000, and it works like a charm—well-designed, compact, and reliable. I use it almost exclusively to power a 1.5 HP well pump. It’s definitely a great choice, and I highly recommend it.
