Portable electric generator: 12 to 40 kilos, to take wherever you need it

Seven gasoline-powered generators that can be lifted with one or two hands and fit in the trunk: 1,100 to 4,600 W, 12 to 40 kg, with inverter technology that reduces noise and fuel consumption when the load decreases. Ideal for camping, RVs, cabins, small construction projects, or power outages. Manufacturer with after-sales service in Spain.

What Is a Portable Electric Generator—and What Isn't?

A portable generator is one you can lift and put in the car without help: it weighs less than 40 kilos, has one or two handles, and features a small gasoline engine with inverter technology, which provides clean power for electronics and runs at lower RPMs when you’re not using much power. It’s the generator for camping, for the van, for the country cottage, and for construction sites where you have to carry it up stairs.

There are two things called "portable" that aren't this. Generators with wheels for home use (4,500 to 7,000 W and about 90 kg) can be moved around the yard, but they can't be lifted: those are the Cube. And battery-powered energy stations—which Google calls “portable solar generators”—don’t have an engine: they’re something else entirely and have their own page. Here, we’re talking about engine-powered generators that you load manually.

Where are you going to take it?

When choosing a laptop, there are three key factors to consider: its weight, its sound quality, and its battery life. Find the one that's right for you.

Refrigerator, light, and cell phone charging

The smallest model in the lineup is all you need: the Ibiza 1100, weighing 12.1 kg, with USB and 12 V outputs, manual start, and a runtime of 5 hours on 3 liters. You can carry it with one hand.

Coffee maker, auxiliary unit, some household appliance

Between 1,500 and 2,000 W rated power and, above all, one that doesn't disturb the neighbor next door. The Palma 1700 (52–58 dB, 19 kg) is the quietest; the Lanzarote RC 2000 includes a remote control with a 50-meter range so you can start it from inside.

Small-scale construction · renovations

Angle grinder, drill, flashlight, and battery charger

Durability matters more here than quiet operation: an open-frame inverter, lighter per watt. Choose between the Rodas 3800 (34.5 kg) or the Feroe 4600 (39.5 kg), both with a 10-liter capacity for the day.

Cabin · country house

Refrigerator, small pump, and light, with controlled noise levels

Madeira 4000: enclosed (57–71 dB), 35 kg, with wheels for moving it around the property, 7 hours of runtime on 7.8 liters. If you plan to use it throughout the entire house and won't be moving it around, check out the Cube.

Power Outage

Keep it stored away and take it out when needed

A Palma or a Menorca is enough to power a refrigerator, router, and lights during a power outage; if you want it to start up automatically when the power goes out, that’s no longer a laptop—it’s an automatic-start generator. And always outside the house, never in a closed garage.

Gas-Powered Laptop or Battery-Powered Station: Which One Is Right for You?

That's the question on the mind of anyone searching for "portable generator" today: the search results include both engines and batteries. Genergy It manufactures both, so the comparison is fair.

Many customers end up with both: the solar-powered station for nighttime use and the electronic one—the gasoline-powered laptop—to power the tools and recharge the solar-powered station when there's no sun.

Why Choose a Genergy Laptop?

Inverter on Channel 7

Clean power for laptops, chargers, and electronics, plus an ECO mode that reduces engine speed when the load is low: less noise and less gas.

Weight, on the data sheet

Here, each model lists its weight, its sound quality, and its battery life. These are the factors that determine a laptop's value—and the ones almost no store tells you about before you buy.

50-meter range on the RC models

In Lanzarote and Menorca, you start and stop the engine from inside the RV or the cabin. You don't have to go out into the rain.

Open or enclosed—the choice is yours

Enclosed (Silent) if there will be people nearby; open (Open) if weight per watt and durability on-site are the priorities.

USB and 12 V Outputs

The Ibiza charges a cell phone or a 12-volt battery directly, without a transformer.

Frequently Asked Questions About Portable Generators

Which portable generator is best?

One that weighs what you’re willing to carry and provides enough power for everything you’ll plug in at once, with a 20–30% margin for starting engines. For a refrigerator and lighting, the Ibiza (12 kg); for a camper, the Palma or Lanzarote (19 kg—the quietest models); for power tools, the Rodas or Feroe (35–40 kg). If it also needs to be truly quiet, go with an enclosed model; if it’s for a construction site, an open model.

How many hours does a portable generator run?

Between 5 and 7 hours on a half charge with a full tank across the entire lineup: the Ibiza runs 5 hours on 3 liters, the Palma and Lanzarote run 7 hours on 4 liters, and the Rodas runs 7.1 hours on 10 liters. On a full charge, it lasts about half as long; in ECO mode with a low charge, it lasts considerably longer. Refuel when the battery is cold, and it’s ready to go.

How much generator power is needed for a house?

For the essentials during a power outage (refrigerator, router, lights, charging cell phones), 1,500–2,000 W is enough: a Palma or a Lanzarote. To add a microwave or a water pump, you’ll need 3,500–4,600 W: like in Madeira or the Faroe Islands. For a whole house with a washing machine and oven, you’ll need 4,500–7,000 W, and that’s no longer something you can carry around: it’s a wheeled generator for the home.

Is it legal to have a generator at home?

Yes, for personal use, without special permission. What the ordinances do regulate is noise (hours and decibels, especially at night) and safety standards: it must always be kept outdoors, never in a garage or enclosed storage room, and away from windows, because carbon monoxide is neither visible nor detectable by smell. To connect it to the home’s electrical panel, you’ll need an electrician and a switch.

What is the difference between a portable generator and a mini generator?

None of them are real: "mini electric generator" is what many people call generators that are under 2,000 W and weigh less than 20 kilos—in other words, the models for Ibiza, Palma, and Lanzarote. You'll find them here.

Can I use a portable generator inside my house or van?

No, never. It's a gasoline engine and emits carbon monoxide. It's set up outside, with the exhaust venting to the outside and several meters away from doors and windows. If you need power indoors without fumes, what you're looking for is a battery-powered power station.

Can it be used with a laptop, a TV, or a battery charger?

Yes: all seven are inverters and produce a pure sine wave, the same as the utility grid. A cheap conventional generator can damage sensitive electronics; an inverter will not.

Which one is the quietest?

The Palma 1700, at 52–58 dB at 7 meters: in ECO mode, quieter than a conversation. The Lanzarote RC 2000 is right behind it (53–59 dB). The open-back models (Rodas, Feroe) produce 67–74 dB: they’re meant for construction sites, not for camping at night.

What kind of maintenance does it need?

Oil (0.4–0.6 liters, depending on the model) every 50–100 hours or once a year, spark plug, and air filter. And if it’s going to be stored for months, drain the carburetor or use gasoline stabilizer: most cases of “won’t start” after the summer are due to old gasoline.

Can I use it to charge the camper's battery?

Yes, using the camper's charger plugged into the 230 V outlet, just as if you were at a campground. The Ibiza also has a direct 12 V outlet for small batteries.

Inverter or conventional display for a laptop?

Definitely an inverter—and that’s why all seven are inverters: they weigh less per watt, consume less power because they run at lower RPMs under light loads, are quieter, and don’t damage electronics. Conventional generators only make sense for heavy-duty construction tools, and those require larger generators anyway.

How much does a portable generator cost?

The price of each model is listed on its product page. Compare the features that really matter in a laptop: weight, noise level, and runtime per charge. Two "2,000-watt" generators can weigh 19 or 30 kilograms and produce 53 or 70 dB of noise.

Which laptop are you going to get?

Tell us what you're going to plug in, where, and how much you're willing to pay. We'll respond via the contact form with the model, weight, and how many hours of use you'll get. Technical support in Spain.

I recently purchased a Limited 7000 generator. I contacted the company by email to ask a few questions, and they responded immediately. Plus, they’re going to replace the industrial outlet adapter in a couple of days. GREAT AFTER-SALES SERVICE—for once, what they say is true; that’s what I call service. As for the generator, it looks well-built and high-quality, starts right up, and the noise level is about what you’d expect from a gasoline-powered generator—it’s a good machine. For now, I’m giving Genergy 5 stars.

I bought the 3000 diesel generator. They tested it at the factory before shipping it to me and delivered it with oil already in it and ready to use—even though they didn’t have to, since with large retailers, they don’t even bother to open the box for you to inspect it. Once tested, it works very well, and I have no complaints. The customer service is excellent. I called several times to get more information—and, by the way, to make sure it wasn’t one of those scams that are so common in online sales these days—and I can assure you that this is a trustworthy company from which I’ll make future purchases. Thank you very much for everything.

Definitely a trustworthy company. I had a minor issue with a generator, and they resolved it within 24 hours. They responded to my email incredibly quickly and provided a fast, effective solution—the kind you’d expect from a mature, well-established team. Their communication was direct, transparent, and straightforward, with no evasive tactics or automated replies that lead nowhere. By the way, the generator is a Genergy 5000, and it works like a charm—well-designed, compact, and reliable. I use it almost exclusively to power a 1.5 HP well pump. It’s definitely a great choice, and I highly recommend it.

I am very satisfied with the product and especially with the after-sales service. They answered all my questions, since my plan was to connect the Genergy device to the solar panels already installed on my boat.
