What Is a Solar Generator and How Does It Work?

Inside, there are three components: a lithium iron phosphate battery, an inverter that converts its current into 230 V pure sine wave power, and a charger with an MPPT solar input and a grid input. How many hours does a solar generator last?

These are calculated by dividing the appliance's capacity in Wh by its power consumption in W, then subtracting 15% to account for energy lost in the inverter. A refrigerator doesn't run constantly, so its battery life is much longer than what the label says; an electric stove lasts exactly as long as the label states.

Hours calculated as Wh × 0.85 ÷ W using standard reference consumption values, not measured on your appliance; the refrigerator figure is taken from the catalog Genergy (temperature maintenance, annual average; varies significantly between summer and winter). This is used to compare sizes, not to guarantee runtime.

W = what you plug in. The continuous output must exceed the sum of the loads that will be running at the same time; the maximum load is the peak startup current of motors and compressors (refrigerator, pump, radial fan), which lasts one second.
Wh = total time. AddW × the number of hours each appliance runs on a typical day. 1,500 Wh is one night of refrigerator and lights; 3,000 Wh is one day in a home without electric heating; 5,000 Wh is a weekend with a stovetop.
What You Shouldn't Plug In:Anything that uses a heating element (oven, glass-ceramic stove, water heater, hair dryer, radiator) will drain any battery in one or two hours. For that, use gasoline or the solar panel kit.
Charging = Your Pace: The PRO-S models charge in 1.4–2.5 hours from a standard outlet; with a 200 W panel, a GZE-1515-C can charge them on a sunny day. If you plan to discharge the battery every day without access to the grid, check out the GEN-1600-SOL.

How many hours does a solar generator last?

Its capacity in Wh is based on the appliance’s power consumption in W, minus 15% for losses. A GZE-3036-PRO-S (3,072 Wh) can keep a Class A refrigerator at the correct temperature for about 192 hours according to the catalog, a 100-W TV for about 26 hours, and a 1,000-W microwave for about 2.6 hours. Anything heated by a heating element will drain the battery in one or two hours.

What kind of solar generator do I need for a house?

To get through power outages, a system rated at 2,000 to 3,000 Wh with 2,500–3,600 W of output (GZE-2025-E or 3036-PRO-S): refrigerator, lights, router, water heater, and microwave for one night. For a weekend cottage, a 5,000 Wh system with a portable panel (GZE-5050-PRO-S). To live off the grid year-round, this isn’t the solution: you’ll need an off-grid solar kit with an inverter and fixed batteries.

How many kW should a generator for a house have?

Add up what will be running at the same time, not everything you have. The refrigerator, lights, router, TV, and gas boiler don’t exceed 1 kW; add the microwave, and it’s 2 kW; a glass-ceramic stove or an electric water heater adds another 3–4 kW. Can I increase the capacity?

Yes. The E and PRO-S models support an EB expansion battery (EB2048 for the 3036-PRO-S, EB4608 for the 4672, EB5040 for the 5050-PRO-S), and the PRO-S models support a BAT battery. They stack and connect; the station manages both as a single unit. The C models do not support expansion.

Can it power a refrigerator, a pump, or a power tool?

Yes, if the maximum output covers the starting peak, which for motors and compressors is two to three times their power consumption for one second. That’s why the models are rated at twice the peak power: the GZE-4672-E can start a 2,000-watt circular saw or a one-horsepower pump without breaking a sweat.
