What Is a Scalable Off-Grid Solar Kit, and Who Is It For?

A solar kit for an off-grid home is a system that converts the energy from your panels into household electricity and stores it for nighttime use: a hybrid inverter plus batteries. The scalable kits from Genergy They solve the classic problem with off-grid systems, which is getting the size right: you start with a 5.1 kWh battery and can stack up to fifteen of them—76.8 kWh—whenever you need to.

Two models based on the power you need at any given time: 5,200 W (10,000 W peak) for a typical home, and 8,000 W (16,000 W peak) for large homes, water pumps, air conditioning, or small businesses. The batteries are the same in both kits: LiFePO4 with a capacity of 5,120 Wh and 4,000 charge cycles, and they stack on top of each other with the wiring included—no cabinet, no closet, and no electrician needed to expand the system. The kits do not include panels: the MPPT controller supports voltages ranging from 140 to 430 V, so you can use the ones you already have or choose your own. If you’re looking for the complete kit with panels for a grid-connected home, check out the self-consumption solar kit.

  • 5–77 kWh, 1 to 15 stackable batteries
  • 5,200 / 8,000 W: twohybrid inverter power ratings
  • 4,000 LiFePO4 cycleswith more than 80% capacity
  • Without furniture, they stack up, and the wiring is included

What do you need it for?

The size of the kit depends on how much you consume per day and how much at a time. Find the option that fits your situation.

Country house

Weekends and Vacations Without Internet Access

Refrigerator, lighting, water pump, television, and chargers. A 5,200-watt kit with a 5- or 10-kWh capacity covers a typical weekend, and since the house is unoccupied during the week, the battery is fully charged by Friday.

Start small

You don't know yet how much you're going to use

This is the most common scenario, and the one that off-grid kits handle the worst. Here, you start with an inverter and a battery, use it for a year, and add another one when needed—without throwing anything away.

With power · power outages

UPS-style backup power for a connected home or business

The hybrid inverter also works with the grid: it charges the batteries from the grid or from solar power, and if the power goes out, the house continues to have uninterrupted power. For cameras in a store, a doctor's office, or a home office. If you're looking to save on your electric bill with solar panels, check out the self-consumption kit.

Build on what you already have

You already have panels, or a kit that didn't quite meet your needs

The MPPT supports 140 to 430 V and up to 6,000 W of capacity (10,000 W for the 8,000 W model): panels from almost any installation will work. And if you have a system Genergy, you buy the LFP 5120 Wh battery It comes loose and piles up.

It starts with one drum set and grows to fifteen

Most off-grid solar kits are sold as fixed packages: you choose 10 or 20 kWh on the first day, and that's what you're stuck with. Here, size isn't a choice—it's a string of batteries.

Choose the power rating: 5,200 W for a typical home; 8,000 W if you have large motors, an induction stove, or air conditioning. That’s the only thing you need to get right on the first day.
Start with the batteries you need. Each LFP 5120Wh battery is 5.1 kWh. One for a shed, two for a country house, four for year-round living.
Stack them as needed. The batteriesare stacked on top of each other, without a cabinet or enclosure, and the kit includes the wiring and a diagram. Up to fifteen: 76.8 kWh.
Move it if necessary. Thewheeled base supports the inverter and up to five batteries. For renovations, rentals, or relocating the installation.

Why Choose an Off-Grid Solar Kit? Genergy

Grows with you

From 5 to 77 kWh by stacking identical batteries, without changing the inverter or buying a new enclosure. A pre-packaged kit forces you to get the size right the first time; this one doesn't.

LiFePO4 with 4,000 cycles

More than 80% capacity after 4,000 cycles: one cycle a day equals eleven years. Compared to lead-acid batteries, they last four or five times longer.

The backup generator, from the same manufacturer

The inverter tolerates harmonics from a conventional generator or inverter and starts only one generator Genergy in SOL mode when the battery runs low.

Installation Without Surprises

Wiring and connection diagram included; batteries are stacked with the cables hidden behind them. The inverter equalizes the batteries based on their type and extends their lifespan.

Control via Mobile Phone

Standard WiFi: production, upload, and usage within the app, and remote access for technical support if diagnostics are needed.

SAT and Replacement Parts in Spain

An insulated kit is a twenty-year investment. Spanish brand, manufacturer, technical support, and genuine parts: when something goes wrong, it matters who’s there to help.

How to Size an Off-Grid Solar Kit in Three Steps

It's the calculation that almost no one shares—and the one that keeps you from having your power shut off in January. With a piece of paper and your old electricity bill (or a list of your appliances), you can do it in ten minutes.

Daily Consumption: Add upthe daily energy consumption in watt-hours for each appliance: refrigerator ~1,000, washing machine ~1,500 per load, LED lighting ~300, TV and router ~500, water pump ~500. A weekend cottage uses around 5 kWh; a primary residence, 10–15; and one with a heat pump, 20 or more.
Days of autonomy: Multiplyby the number of consecutive days you want to go without sunlight. In the north and in winter, two or three; in the south, one and a half. 10 kWh × 2 days = 20 kWh of usable battery capacity, or four LFP5120Wh.
Simultaneous Power: Add upeverything that can be turned on at thesame time, including motor startup peaks (a 1,000-watt pump starts up at 3,000 watts). Up to 5,200 watts continuous: use a 5,200-watt inverter; if you exceed that—or if you have an induction cooktop or air conditioning—use the 8,000-watt inverter.

Typical reference consumption figures, not catalog prices Genergy. Every installation is different: if you send us your list of appliances and their locations, we'll send you the sizing information via the contact form.

What an insulated kit needs to last twenty years

Lithium LiFePO4, lead-free

The lead-acid batteries still sold in this price range last for 500–1,200 cycles and cannot handle deep discharges. The LiFePO4 batteries in this kit last for 4,000 cycles at 80% capacity. The difference is whether you have to replace the batteries two or three times—or not at all.

Hybrid inverter, not just a charger

A hybrid system manages the panels, battery, grid (if available), and generator all at once, and prioritizes solar power. A simple inverter-charger cannot communicate with either the generator or the grid.

Generator Input

In a typical, isolated home, sooner or later there will be a week without sunshine. The fact that the inverter can handle a generator and start it up on its own isn't a bonus—it's what keeps you from being left in the dark.

Expandable without changing anything

Adding a battery shouldn't require replacing the inverter, cabinet, or wiring. With this kit, adding another battery is as simple as stacking it on top and connecting it.

Wide-range MPPT

The 140- to 430-volt input supports panels of different power ratings and series, both now and when you replace one in ten years.

Who is responsible?

Batteries and an inverter from a manufacturer that offers technical support in your country and remote access to the equipment. An off-grid kit from an unknown brand is cheap—until the first failure.

Frequently Asked Questions About Solar Kits for Off-Grid Homes

Is it legal to install an off-grid solar system in Spain?

Yes. An off-grid system is not connected to the grid, so it does not require the self-consumption process or an agreement with the utility company; it does, however, need to comply with low-voltage regulations and, depending on the municipality and the power rating, may require a notification or a minor construction permit. An authorized installer can handle this for you.

What do I need for an off-grid solar system?

In SOL mode, it starts up only when the battery is low.

How much does an off-grid solar power system cost?

It depends mainly on the battery capacity. The price of each kit is listed on its product page, ranging from the smallest (5,200 W and 5.1 kWh) to one suitable for a typical home (20 kWh), with neither panels nor installation included. The advantage of its scalability is that you don't have to pay today for the battery you'll need three years from now.

Is it possible to install an off-grid solar power system without batteries?

Only for loads that operate during the day only, such as an irrigation pump. Not for a home: without a battery, there’s no light at night or on a cloudy day. What you can do with this kit is start with a single battery and expand from there.

How many batteries do I need for a country house?

For weekend use, one or two (5 to 10 kWh) are usually enough: refrigerator, lights, water pump, and TV. For year-round living, three to five (15 to 25 kWh)—more if you have a heat pump or a well. The table above is a guide; we’ll provide an exact calculation based on your specific equipment.

5,200 or 8,000 W?

5,200 W continuous (10,000 W peak) is enough to power a typical home with a washing machine, refrigerator, and water pump all running at the same time. Choose 8,000 W (16,000 W peak) if you have an induction cooktop, air conditioning, a large heat pump, or farm equipment. The batteries are the same for both options.

How many panels does it support?

Up to 6,000 W of PV array capacity for the 5,200 W inverter and up to 10,000 W (two 5,000 W inputs) for the 8,000 W inverter, with an input voltage range of 140 to 430 V. For 450-660 W panels, this translates to between 9 and 20 panels.

How long do the batteries last?

They are LiFePO4 batteries with a cycle life of 4,000 cycles, retaining more than 80% of their capacity. At one full cycle per day, that’s about eleven years; at a weekend home, much longer. The inverter equalizes them according to their type to extend their lifespan.

Can I connect a generator to it?

Yes, and that's what's recommended for a single-family home. The inverter can handle the harmonics produced by both inverter-type and conventional generators, and with a generator Genergy In the SOL version, the system starts automatically when the battery level drops below the threshold you set. Models and compatibility: solar backup generator.

Does it work as a UPS if I have a network connection?

Yes. The hybrid inverter operates while connected to the grid: it charges the batteries using solar power or grid power, and if there’s a power outage, the house continues to receive power without interruption. This is the best option for businesses with surveillance cameras or medical offices. If your goal is to save on your electricity bill, the self-consumption kit with solar panels is the right choice.

Can I install it myself?

Adding another battery—yes: the wiring and diagram are included. The initial installation (panels, safety devices, connection to the home) must be performed by a licensed electrician, just like any other electrical installation.

Can the installation be moved?

With the wheeled base (Wheels base), which supports the inverter and up to five batteries. For renovations, rentals, or moving to another room without having to take anything apart.

How many batteries and what capacity do you need for your home?

Tell us what equipment you have, whether you live there year-round or just on weekends, and how many days you want to go without electricity. We'll get back to you via the contact form with details on the kit, the panels, and, if needed, the backup generator. Technical support in Spain.

Generally good experience. My issue is with delivery times. Website claim is 2--3 business days whereas actual is 5-7 business days. Also when ringing the courier company CBL and requesting info in English they just hung up the phone on a number of calls. They do not reflect the courtesy shown by Genergy. This was down to Daniel Perez. He showed a level of professionalism, efficiency and communication which is a treasure to your company. Thank you Daniel.
